The MAIH RBC Challenge

The MAIH RBC Challenge is a sporting event open to all in which teams run or walk a distance of 5 in the Marathon of Montréal for the benefit of the Montréal Association for the Intellectually Handicapped.

These funds will be used this year to provide financial support to MAIH members who will be travelling to New York in April 2019 as part of our “Broaden Our Horizons” program.

In collaboration with RBC, the goal is to build teams made up of RBC employees, MAIH members and anyone wishing to run for a good cause, with team-based fundraising goals.

Each RBC team will be paired with an MAIH member wishing to participate in the trip to New York.

Runners and walkers will meet on Saturday, September 22, 2018 to participate in this sporting event combined with a fundraising event. Each participant must raise the minimum amount of 100$. It is also a great opportunity to educate the community about intellectual disability and to contribute to the social participation of people with intellectual disabilities.

We look forward to seeing you on September 22!

Runners and walkers turn out every September in order to participate in this annual multi-disciplinary event which is also a fund-raiser, since in order to participate, each person must raise a minimum of $250 in donations to the MAIH.

This event is also an opportunity to increase the public’s awareness of our cause and to further the social inclusion of our members with an intellectual handicap in a public activity.

The 5th edition held on September 20th raised more than $17 000! Thank you to the participants.

The next edition of The Janine Sutto Challenge will be held on September 25nd, 2016.

Last year 60 runners assembled at the starting line in order to participate in this fund-raising event for the benefit of the members of the MAIH! Thanks to their efforts, the sum of $20, 000 was raised to support MAIH projects.

As a reward for your fundraising efforts, you will have the chance to earn one of several very interesting prizes. The greater the amount in donations collected, the greater your chances to win a prize!

— “We did 5 km!”,  Normand (from the CAJ Sud-Ouest) said proudly, after meeting the challenge in 2014.

Act like Normand and sign up for the Défi Jainine Sutto Challenge marathon!
