Thanks to Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec

Montreal, August 6th 2018Summer is coming to an end for the Out-of-Town Stays Program of the Montreal Association for Intellectually Handicapped (AMDI) and the members of the association have benefited from a new program thanks to the support of the Fondation Bon Départ de Canadian Tire du Quebec.

This program called “A night under the stars” allows participants to experience a night in a tent during their week of vacation in one of the camps where they go with the MAIH (Camp Familial Saint-Urbain and Accès Plein Air).

“Our members have been included throughout the Foundation’s donation process: from getting free camping gear at Canadian Tire to camp installation. In addition to setting up the program one night under the stars, this support has also allowed us to obtain free items that must be purchased each year but also sustainable equipment, for the years to come (various games, camping tables, coolers…). So thanks to the support of the Fondation Bon départ ! – Julie Bincteux, Out-of-Town Stays coordinator.

Since 1935, the MAIH has provided services that meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Our mission is to promote the social participation of adults living with intellectual disabilities and to provide support services to families in the exercise of their responsibilities. The MAIH is an association which lives by and for its members, with the collectivity.
