The MAIH RBC Challenge: $8,500 raised for the MAIH

Montreal, September 25, 2019 — The Montreal Association for the intellectually handicapped (MAIH) is proud to announce the results of the 2nd edition of the MAIH RBC Challenge held last Saturday as part of the ROCK’N’ROLL Montreal Marathon.

The 36 participants who walked and run 5K and 10K managed to raise $8,500 for the MAIH Broaden Your Horizons program (BYH).

This challenge will be paired with the MAIH RBC Challenge 2020 to reduce the costs of the next BYH trip that will be unveiled in the course of 2020. A journey that has never been done before and will make our members happy… A hint? Magic will be in the spotlight!

In addition, 9 people with intellectual disabilities took part in the race and took up the challenge; a good example of surpassing oneself.

“Once again, a great day in very good company, the sun and the pleasure shone. Thanks to all the volunteers and CONGRATULATIONS to the MAIH members who have completed the 5K and 10K courses with the biggest smile. We look forward to seeing you next year!”, said Josée Pépin, a board member of the MAIH and the instigator of the MAIH RBC Challenge.
