We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new Executive Director at the Montreal Association for the Intellectually Handicapped, Anick Viau!
Anick has extensive experience in communications and non-profit management. With an academic background in administration and labour and social law, her versatile expertise will be an invaluable asset to our association.
She has promoted the interests and defended the rights of people with intellectual disabilities over the past seven years.
Over the past seven years, Anick has promoted the interests and defended the rights of people with intellectual disabilities, notably as Assistant Director of Communications at the Société québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle. She has spearheaded several awareness campaigns. She has worked with the Office québécois de la langue française to change the way words are used to describe intellectual disabilities, which has led to change in Quebec society.
Her motivation to secure the well-being of people with intellectual disabilities, to ensure that they live with dignity and play an active role in society, as well as her unwavering commitment to the respect of their rights, have marked her professional career.
It is with these values that she will pursue the mission that the Montreal Association for the Intellectually Handicapped has set itself.
Her background, varied skills and passion for the cause make her a committed and inspiring leader who will guide our association to new heights.
